Real estate is my profession and music is my passion. I started my real estate career in 2005 working both as a lender and realtor and quickly realized my desire was to be an expert in real estate. My wife, Leah and I are a real estate team that specialize in residential real estate sales and often consult on issues pertaining to first time purchases, foreclosures, short sales, loan mods and listing a home for sale.

Music has always intrigued me and in Junior High School I took band as an elective. I thoroughly enjoyed learning how to read music and playing multiple percussion instruments. Today I still nurture my love for the drum set by playing as much as my schedule allows. Almost every type of music is enjoyable for me to listen to and I have been involved in bands ranging from Christian Worship to Heavy Metal.

I’ve been married to Leah Wise since July of 2003 and we have three children. Two girls and a boy. I’ve learned that life is great if my perspective is right. It’s full of choices which is reaffirmed by the fact that life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.

Places Where Veterans Eat Free Today

Monday, Nov. 11, is Veterans Day, a federal holiday that celebrates those who have served in the U.S. armed forces. Unlike Memorial Day, which honors men and women who died serving, Veterans Day honors the service of all members of the military, current and former.

This year several business and retailers will honor those men and women who have served or are still serving with free gifts or discounts.

However, many of the restaurants listed require proof of military service in order to receive a free meal or other discount. Also, be sure to call your local store, since some choose not to participate in the promotion.

Below is a list of some promotions for veterans and active military service members, from restaurants to coffee shops.

1.       Applebee’s is offering veterans and active-duty military members a free entrée on Monday. The offer is valid for dine-in only and must show proof of service.

The City of La Palma kicks off the 2013 La Palma Days Celebration with the Pageant on Sunday, November 3 at the Walter Ehlers Community Center in Buena Park.  La Palma’s 2012-2013 Ambassador, Summer Meyer, will crown this year’s winner.

As an ambassador, Summer is attending Business Grand Openings, City Functions and Community Events.  This past year, for the first time, each of the contestants chose a service organization to dedicate their year of service too.  Summer has chosen to create an anti-bullying program. She believes that bullying is an epidemic in our society today and wants to use her influence to raise awareness about this issue.
